You stated the fact, he’s a player. He most likely is just playing with your mind and trying to fuck with your emotions and you don’t need such stress. He’s probably doing and saying the same things to a million other girls. Let it go, leave him in the dust. I’m honestly sure such a thing is not worth it. I’ve helped my friends with similar situations like this.

Keep calm, panic attacks are extremely hard for me to cope with, I’d imagine how they make you feel. Try not to think about the work you have to get done so much, it’ll just make things worse. Take it step by step and day by day and I’m sure that you will get the job done. You’re not worthless, I promise. Just go with the flow. Trust is the number one thing in relationships. You have to learn how to let go of the past. The new guy hasn’t done anything in order for you to not trust him, right? I think that you need to get rid of your fears of trusting before you enter a new relationship, or the outcome could be bad. Good luck sweet heart! 

Oh my god I completely understand. I took speech classes from first to 8th grade. I couldn’t pronounce my L’s Th’s and S’s it was so embarrassing and I always gotten made fun of for the way I talked. I swear, people can eat you alive with that stuff.
